quench’s 2025 trend report maps the future of food and beverage

Work

quench’s annual Food & Beverage Trend Report is served and it delivers 11 cultural and marketplace forces shaping food, beverage and CPG marketing in 2025.

This year’s trends are organized into three categories: Head (trends with rational appeal), Heart (emotional drivers) and Body (physical benefits). This framework helps brands understand not just what’s trending, but why it matters and how it connects with consumers.

“Spotting trends is just the beginning. The real challenge lies in uncovering the ones that brands can act on. That’s where the quench trends team thrives,” said quench CEO Michael Pavone.  “We’re also aware that trends are only useful if they drive results, and that’s what we’re here to help our clients do.”

The following are four of the trends identified by the quench team:

PURPOSEFUL PACKAGING – How innovation in packaging—from biodegradable materials to refill stations—is reshaping sustainability efforts and consumer expectations.

CULINARY PASSPORTS – Gen Z and Millennials are driving demand for global flavors inspired by cultural exploration, travel, and social media.

BRANDED FUSIONS – Unexpected brand collaborations—especially across food, fashion and beauty—are capturing attention and creating buzzworthy moments.

APPETITE ADJUSTMENT – The rise of GLP-1 drugs is shifting consumption habits and creating demand for lower-calorie, high-protein, and functional foods.

Now in its 16th year, the trend report draws on extensive research, cultural analysis and input from experts across the food and beverage ecosystem. The result is a dynamic snapshot of the forces shaping what’s next in food, beverage and CPG in 2025.
